Boy group Treasure is dropping a new digital single, “Shock,” at 6 p.m. Monday, according to label YG Entertainment.
The nine-member act goes full force with a synth hip-hop sound, after signaling a new chapter in its musical journey with its fifth EP, “New Wav,” in June. The all hip-hop mini album became its second million-seller and topped the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 13 regions.
The new electronic hip-hop number incorporates thumping beats while the lyrics hark back to 1TYM’s 2003 hit song “Hot.”
“We'll show what we’ve got," the group said, adding that it hopes to give fans a “positive shock.”
Treasure wrapped up its fan concert tour in late September in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, after performing 21 shows in nine cities in the span of three months.
