French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry join hands with MEDEF International to ramp up economic ties between French and Korean firms
The French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday gathered dozens of representatives from French firms in Seoul to discuss ways to do business in Korea.
The business event took place as Korean President Lee Jae Myung hosted a summit with French President Emmanuel Macron in Seoul, the first visit by a French president since 2015.
During the forum, held at the FKI building in Yeouido, Seoul, the FKCCI signed a memorandum of understanding with MEDEF International, a private organization established by France’s largest employers' federation.
According to the FKCCI, the MOU aims to enhance coordination between both organizations, support the international development of French companies and further structure France–Korea economic exchanges through joint initiatives such as business delegations, forums and B2B meetings.
“Today’s signing anchors our relationship in the long term and highlights the need for collective action to sustainably strengthen economic ties between France and Korea,” FKCCI Chair David-Pierre Jalicon said during his speech at the event.
MEDEF International Chair Frederic Sanchez echoed the importance of further enhancing Korean business relations. He noted that unity was essential to navigating international dynamics and building strong, lasting partnerships with Korea.
FKCCI Board members Philippe Li, Julien Herveau, Gerald Massenet, Ida Daussy and Jalicon discussed what to do when French businesses are trying to figure things out in Korea, highlighting the importance of long-term engagement, trust and cultural understanding.
