Five months since debuting, rookie boy group And2ble is trading the high-energy intensity of its first release for a more restrained and mature approach.

The five-member group — Zhang Hao, Yoo Seungeon, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin and Han Yujin — released its second EP, “Sequence 02: Attraction,” Tuesday, on the heels of the group's debut with “Sequence 01: Curiosity” in May.

“If our previous album focused on curiosity toward a world we were encountering for the first time, this time, we wanted to focus on a single emotion to express that one more deeply,” Seungeon said at a media showcase in central Seoul, Tuesday.

“We thought a lot about what kind of music and performances suit us, and I think it was a process that allowed us to try something new while maintaining our own identity.”

The five-track EP follows the progression of curiosity into attraction, led by “French Kissing,” a tropical R&B track produced by British production duo LDN Noise, known for producing hit K-pop tracks such as BTS’ “Butter,” KiiiKiii’s “404 (New Era),” Riize’s “Fame” and BoyNextDoor’s “Viral.”

“French Kissing” captures the moment two people become drawn to one another, pairing a dreamy melody with a more subdued performance style.

“With ‘Sequence 01: Curiosity,’ we showed powerful energy and performances, but (‘French Kissing’) shows a more restrained, mature and sexy side to us,” Seungeon added.

Ricky also participated in writing lyrics for the side track “Worth It,” which portrays feelings gradually building to a confession.

The comeback has already given And2ble another strong start. “Sequence 02: Attraction” sold more than 520,000 copies on its first day, topping Hanteo Chart’s daily albums chart, according to the group’s agency.

Gyuvin said the group hopes to become known for that continued progression.

“I hope people will describe And2ble as a group that continues to grow,” he said. “I want us to be a group that always leaves people curious about what we’ll do next.”
