Cortis to release expanded EP with two new tracks for debut anniversary

Cortis is set to celebrate the first anniversary since the group debuted with an expanded edition of its second EP, featuring two new songs that “reflect the group’s current musical identity.”

The expanded album, “GreenGreen_playextended,” will be released at midnight on Monday, with "Pack It Up" and "MoneyMoneyMoney" added to the six songs originally featured on the group’s second EP, “GreenGreen.”

The two songs were first unveiled as surprise performances during the opening night of Cortis’ “Put Your Phone Down Birthday Party” at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seoul on Saturday, drawing an enthusiastic reaction from the audience.

According to Big Hit Music, the additional tracks were selected from songs originally created during the production of “GreenGreen” but which ultimately were left off the album. The agency described the two as those that best capture “the Cortis of today,” further expanding on the themes and musical direction introduced in the original release.

As with the group’s previous releases, all five bandmates — Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon and Keonho — participated in writing and composing the new songs through a collaborative creative process. The agency said the tracks draw on their everyday experiences while preserving the raw energy and emotions that shaped the original recording sessions.

The release follows a successful run for “GreenGreen,” which has become the group’s breakthrough album. The EP spent 14 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200, setting a new longevity record for a single album by a K-pop boy group that debuted within the last five years.

Cortis was set to continue its “Put Your Phone Down” tour with another concert in Seoul on Sunday. As part of its 14-show tour spanning nine cities, the group has already completed performances in Incheon and North America, with three more shows planned in Kanagawa, Japan from Sept. 4 to 6.
