South Korean figure skating stars Cha Jun-hwan and Lee Hae-in showcased the country’s cultural power at the gala exhibition to close the figure skating events of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, held Sunday in Milan.
Cha performed to “Not a Dream,” by Song So-hee, a song that incorporates elements of Korea's tradition gugak music.
He also made a surprise appearance during Estonian skater Nina Petrokina’s program as one of the suitors competing for her attention. Playing a man ejected by Petrokina, Cha drew laughs from the crowd.
Lee electrified the arena with K-pop flair.
Performing to music from Netflix’s “KPop Demon Hunters,” she first appeared dressed as a traditional grim reaper, with a black gat, a black fan and a black durumagi coat.
In the second half of her program, she changed into a white crop top and shorts to deliver a dazzling dance.
