Chinese President Xi Jinping is in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, on Friday, the second day of his three-day state visit to South Korea, which is his first trip to the country in 11 years.
Xi was welcomed by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung as he arrived at the Gyeongju Hwabaek International Convention Center to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit on Friday morning. A bilateral meeting between the two leaders is scheduled for Saturday.
Upon his arrival in South Korea on Thursday, Xi held a 100-minute meeting with US President Donald Trump in Busan, marking their first summit in six years.
