President, First Lady's Chuseok greeting

President Lee Jae Myung reaffirmed his commitment to improving livelihoods in a video message released Saturday morning, on the eve of the Chuseok holiday.

In the one-and-a-half-minute video uploaded to the state-run KTV YouTube channel, Lee appeared with First Lady Kim Hea Kyung, both dressed in traditional hanbok.

Lee began his remarks by greeting the public and overseas Koreans, extending holiday wishes as Chuseok officially begins Sunday.

Alongside these greetings, he also expressed concern over the country’s economic difficulties, saying this heightened his sense of responsibility.

"I will fully dedicate myself to state affairs to ease the burdens of those struggling with life’s hardships and to improve their quality of life," he said.

"I will spare no effort help our industry and nation grow and make a great leap forward."

Lee added he was confident Korea would overcome its challenges, citing the people’s resolve and aspirations for a better future.

First Lady Kim added a traditional saying: “No more, no less – may it always be like Korean Thanksgiving Day.”

"May your families be filled with good health and happiness," she said.

The video, filmed at the presidential office in Yongsan-gu, central Seoul, according to KTV, concluded with the presidential couple bowing in thanks.

It also featured a sign language interpreter in the bottom right corner throughout.
