The World Congress of the Econometric Society opened at Coex Convention Center in Seoul on Monday, bringing together top economists from around the globe for five days of academic exchange.

Held every five years, the congress is one of the most prestigious events in the field of economics. This year marks its first time in South Korea, co-hosted by leading institutions including Seoul National University, the Korean Economic Association, Bank of Korea, and several major universities and research institutes.

The event runs through Friday.
