A special forces unit under the Republic of Korea Army carried out five days of training this week, from Monday through Friday, in Taean, South Chungcheong Province, despite the extreme heat.
The drills were designed to sharpen the soldiers’ maritime infiltration skills.
Before the main exercise, troops warmed up with various pretraining activities, including a 10-kilometer coastal run in temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius.
To simulate real combat conditions, the unit also used a 130-ton vessel and practiced sea jumps as part of the training.
