Australian Rugby League team Gold Coast Titans has been involved in a scandal after hiring an alleged porn actress as one of its coaches.
Australian online news media News Limited reported that pornographic material featuring Kortney Olson, who was recently appointed the new training coach for the club’s under-20s team, had been found on the Internet.
In a further concern, the Courier Mail reported Kortney Olson is a spouse to David May, who recently became as the club’s chief executive.
At least two staff members of the club reportedly have complained about the appointment scandal to the management.
The Titans defended Olson’s appointment, saying that she is just a volunteer not an official employee of the club. The club’s boss May also told media that he was aware of Olson’s pornographic work and that he feels proud that she has decided to turn her life around.
Regardless of the club’s support, local media said the scandal was expected to put the club further into hot water as it is already $25 million in the red.

구단측은 올슨의 코치지명을 옹호하며 그녀가 공식적인 직원이 아니라 그 자리에 자원한 것뿐이라고 설명했다. 구단주 메이는 또한 올슨이 과거에 포르노물을 촬영한 경험이 있었다는 것을 알고 있었으며 이제 그녀가 새로운 삶을 살기로 했다는 사실이 오히려 자랑스럽다고 밝혔다.
이와 같은 구단의 지지에도 불구하고 현지 언론에 따르면 이번 스캔들은 이미 2천5백만 달러 규모의 적자에 허덕이고 있는 구단을 더욱 곤란한 상황으로 몰고 갈 공산이 크다고 예상했다. (코리아헤럴드)
