President of the Korea Swimming Federation Lee Ki-heung is to lead Korean athletes to the London Olympic Games, according to the Korean Olympic Committee.
The KOC board on Thursday approved Lee as head of the Korean team for the London 2012 Games, scheduled from July 27-Aug. 12, the sport governing body announced.

Lee, 57, has served as a vice president of the KOC since 2009, and also headed the Korean Canoe Federation from 2004 to 2009.
Lee previously served as a vice president of the Korean Pentathlon Federation from 2000 to 2004.
In 2010, Lee also headed the Korean delegation to the Guangzhou Asian Games, helping Korea finish second at the quadrennial event with 76 gold medals.
Lee currently serves as a director for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee.
“It’s a great honor, but I have to shoulder great responsibilities. Our aim is to finish within the top 10 in London, with more than 10 gold medals,” Lee told the KOC.
