The U.S. Geological Survey reported Tuesday that an earthquake has taken place near North Korea's nuclear test site.

USGS said the magnitude-5.1 quake occurred 49 kilometers from the North's northeastern city of Kilju, where the country's Punggye-ri nuclear test site is located, at 1:30 a.m. GMT on Wednesday. (Yonhap)
