이용구(기업인) 중앙대학교는 4일 법인 이사회를 열고 제 14대 총장에 이용구 교수(59ㆍ사진)를 선임했다고 5일 밝혔다. 이용구 심임 총장은 고려대를 졸업하고 미네소타 대학원에서 석ㆍ박사를 마친 뒤 1986년부터 중앙대학교 경영경제대학 응용통계학과 교수로 재직해왔다.

Chung-Ang University named Lee Yong-goo, professor of applied statistics of the business and economics school, its new president at its board meeting Monday.

Lee graduated from the economics department of Korea University in 1980 and acquired master’s and doctoral degrees in statistics from the University of Minnesota in the U.S.

He joined the faculty of Chung-Ang University in 1986, and has held important positions including chief of admissions and chief editor of the school newspaper.

He will take office as the 14th president on March 1 for a two-year term.
