Global sales of electric vehicles are expected to grow to more than 10 times their 2011 level by 2020, according to NEWSis, a local news agency, which compiled reports from two research firms. In 2011, a total of about 1 million EV units were sold across the world, but sales are estimated to reach around 10 million units by the end of the decade.
