[THE INVESTOR] On Sept. 29, Lotte Food (002270) increased 1.28% to 714,000 won (US$649.86). It had increased 2.98% through the past month. Standard deviation, the risk index for stock price, was 1.8% on the same period of time over one month.
Compared with its close competitors within the same industry, KOSPI, the monthly earnings rate of Lotte Food was proper, while its volatility within one month was considerably higher than that of its peer group. Over the recent month, the return-on-risk, the return on investment with consideration about risk, was 1.6. The volatility of Lotte Food was the highest among its peer group, but the return-on-risk is not so low. However, compared with the KOSPI industry, the return-on-risk is below the industrial mean, 2.3, and thus it is hard to say that the industrial comparison performance was positive.
From Sept. 27, institutions have been continuously selling Lotte Food during the past two trading days. As a shareholding sum by investor group for the past four weeks, foreigners have bought 3,921 shares with a maintenance of shareholding and individuals have bought 8,500 shares with an increasing position.
