Taihan Cable & Solution has secured a turnkey contract to build a 380-kilovolt underground power transmission network in Germany through its Dutch subsidiary, strengthening its foothold in Europe's high-voltage infrastructure market.

Under the agreement, Taihan Netherlands B.V. will handle engineering, construction and overall project management, while the South Korean parent company will supply high-voltage cables, joints and other key components.

In a regulatory filing Tuesday, Taihan disclosed a 115 billion won ($86.85 million) contract with its Dutch subsidiary for equipment and related services. The total project value is higher, as it also covers engineering and construction costs.

Taihan did not disclose the full contract value or the client's identity, citing confidentiality obligations.

The project involves a 380kV underground alternating-current transmission network, Germany's highest voltage level for such infrastructure. Taihan won two similar contracts in January 2023, building a track record in the German market.

The cable-maker has secured more than 500 billion won in new contracts across Europe this year, including major projects in Germany, Denmark and the UK.

Taihan expects demand for high-voltage transmission infrastructure to grow as the expansion of AI applications and data centers drives electricity consumption and grid investment across Europe.

A company official said Taihan would deepen partnerships with European customers while pursuing additional opportunities in high-voltage direct current transmission and submarine cable projects.

Taihan entered Europe in 2017 with a UK branch and established its Dutch subsidiary in 2019. It now operates five branches and one subsidiary across the region.
