Two thousand drones will illuminate the sky above Ttukseom Hangang Park on Saturday, bringing Marvel characters and movie scenes to the Han River for Seoul’s final drone light show of the year.
The 15-minute performance will begin at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, featuring Iron Man and other Marvel characters in formations synchronized with music, according to the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
It will use the largest number of drones deployed for the city’s Han River show.
Visitors arriving early can explore Marvel-themed activities, including a costume parade, event booths and a photo zone inspired by Doctor Doom’s throne and stained glass.
The photo zone, themed around "Avengers: Doomsday," will host a social media event from noon to 7 p.m., with merchandise offered to the first 1,000 participants.
A farmers market near exits 2 and 3 of Jayang Station will sell seasonal produce and regional food. Delivery platform Baedal Minjok will also offer discount coupons usable near the venue.
The drone series has drawn about 197,000 spectators across seven performances through Oct. 9 this year, city officials said. Average attendance reached approximately 28,000 per show, compared with 11,000 when the series began in 2023.
Foreign visitors accounted for 34.6 percent of spectators at the five performances held in the first half of this year.
With the finale falling on Halloween, the city plans to deploy additional safety personnel and arrange extra subway services. Trains may bypass Jayang Station if crowding poses safety concerns.
