A cosmetics and beauty expo in South Korea's central city of Cheongju attracted export contracts worth nearly US$100 million during its three-day run, the provincial government said Sunday.
The Cosmetics & Beauty Expo, Osong, Korea 2026 was held from Thursday through Saturday in Osong, a district of Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, about 83 kilometers south of Seoul, attracting more than 17,400 visitors.
The event brought together 254 domestic and foreign cosmetics companies, 200 invited buyers from 37 countries and 329 buyers who registered on-site.
Export consultations reached $269.82 million, up 14.3 percent from a year earlier, leading to export contracts worth $96.95 million.
More than 300 industry experts and officials attended seminars to discuss emerging technologies, market trends and business opportunities, highlighting the expo's growing role as a global K-beauty business platform.
"Through the expo, we will actively support local companies' overseas expansion and export growth, while making North Chungcheong Province a global K-beauty hub," Gov. Shin Yong-han said.
