Posco Future M has partnered with US software firm Palantir Technologies to accelerate its AI-driven transformation, targeting major gains in manufacturing productivity, product development and customer service.

The battery materials maker said Wednesday it had signed an agreement to adopt Palantir's Foundry data analytics platform and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP). Foundry integrates data across business operations, while AIP combines enterprise data with generative AI to support AI-powered decision-making and automation.

The partnership builds on Posco Future M's digital transformation strategy unveiled in July and a companywide AI innovation initiative launched in August.

The company will initially deploy Palantir's solutions in sales and marketing to improve customer responsiveness and coordination, before considering a phased expansion into manufacturing and other operations.

By integrating fragmented data and embedding AI across workflows, Posco Future M aims to speed up decisions and automate routine processes, allowing employees to focus on oversight and final decisions.

The company targets a more than 60 percent improvement in customer responsiveness, a 30 percent increase in manufacturing productivity and a 50 percent reduction in product development time.

Over the longer term, Posco Future M plans to build a data-driven platform connecting production, sales and supply chain partners, strengthening collaboration across the battery industry and creating new business opportunities.

The company is also expanding employee AI training and testing staff-developed applications for workplace use. It plans to roll out selected projects in phases by the first half of 2027, while 87 employees who have completed specialist training work to identify inefficiencies and develop AI-based solutions.
