Singer-songwriter Ejae, who rose to global fame with the hit song "Golden" from Netflix's animated film "KPop Demon Hunters," has married producer and songwriter Samuel Kim, also known as Sam Kim, in Seoul.
The couple held an outdoor wedding Saturday at Stage 28 in Godeok-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, according to an interview published Monday by Vogue.
The venue holds special significance for Ejae, as it stands on the former residential property of her maternal grandfather, veteran Korean actor Shin Young-kyun. Her older brother also held his wedding there.
"My grandparents lived in the house at the venue when I was a little girl," Ejae said in the interview.
The couple had originally planned to marry in California in November, but moved the ceremony to South Korea and brought the date forward by about a month.
They had just four months to organize the wedding after changing their plans, which had already been delayed by Ejae's promotional commitments following the global success of "KPop Demon Hunters."
Ejae and Kim first met during a songwriting session in May 2017 and developed a romantic relationship after initially working together as creative partners. They became engaged in June 2025.
The couple celebrated their marriage with family and friends, incorporating paebaek, a traditional Korean wedding ceremony in which newlyweds bow to their elders and receive blessings, into the festivities.
A former SM Entertainment trainee, Ejae has built a career as a songwriter, contributing to K-pop hits including Red Velvet's "Psycho" and Aespa's "Drama" and "Armageddon."
She gained international recognition as a cowriter and singer of "Golden," the breakout hit from "KPop Demon Hunters," which won best song written for visual media at the 68th Grammy Awards in February.
