Main Ingredients:
- 500g pork shoulder
- ½ onion
- 1 green onion
- 1 each red and green chili peppers
- Cooking oil (a little amount)
Seasoning Ingredients:
- 2½ tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- ½ tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon cooking wine
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Ground black pepper (a little amount)
Instructions:
Pat the pork dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Add the marinade ingredients and mix well. Let the pork marinate for 10–15 minutes.
(Tip: Marinating the pork for at least 10 minutes helps enhance its flavor and texture.)
(Tip: Add 1 tablespoon of onion juice to the marinade to make the pork more tender and bring out its natural sweetness.)
Thinly slice the onion. Cut half of the green onion and the red and green chili peppers diagonally. Thinly shred the remaining green onion to make a garnish.
Heat a pan over high heat and add a little cooking oil. Stir-fry the onion, then add the marinated pork. Quickly sear the pork on both sides over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and continue cooking.
(Tip: Adjusting the heat quickly helps achieve a nicely browned exterior while keeping the inside tender.
Add the green onions and chili peppers, and stir-fry together until cooked.
Once the pork is golden brown and the sauce has reduced, drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
(Tip: Lightly char the surface of the pork with a kitchen torch for an extra smoky flavor.)
Arrange the shredded green onions on a serving plate and place the pork bulgogi on top. Serve with rice and enjoy!
