Celltrion will seek drug development partners, supply agreements and contract manufacturing clients at the Convention on Pharmaceutical Ingredients Worldwide in Milan from Oct. 6 to 8, as it expands beyond biosimilars.
The company will focus on potential partners in cancer, obesity and metabolic disorders and autoimmune diseases, aiming to broaden its pipeline and strengthen development capabilities through collaboration with global drugmakers and biotech firms.
It will also seek additional raw material suppliers and contract manufacturers to meet growing demand for its core products. Alongside strengthening existing partnerships, Celltrion aims to diversify its supply chain and lower costs.
The event will support Celltrion’s push into contract development and manufacturing services, or CDMO. Drawing on its experience developing antibody-based biologics and its manufacturing capacity, the company plans to pursue partnerships tailored to clients’ needs.
The convention covers the pharmaceutical supply chain, from ingredients and production to outsourced development and manufacturing. This year’s event is expected to attract more than 60,000 industry professionals representing 2,400 companies from over 170 countries.
Celltrion will have a standalone booth for the fifth consecutive year. Its 152-square-meter space will include meeting rooms and a lounge for prospective partners, alongside programs showcasing its technology.
“CPHI will provide an opportunity to showcase Celltrion’s drug development and manufacturing capabilities on the global stage and further strengthen our global supply chain,” a company official said.
The official added that Celltrion would strengthen supply capacity for existing products while pursuing CDMO clients and partnerships for next-generation drugs.
