Hwang Minhyun will star in a new drama, according to a local media report on Tuesday.
He has been chosen to be the male protagonist in the drama adaptation of the web novel “Iseop’s Romance." His character is an heir who falls in love with the first person to beat him while training for the job. The role was originally taken by Lee Jong-suk, but Lee had to pass it up due to schedule adjustments.
The upcoming drama will air next year, as does the second season of “Study Group.” Hwang shared the news that he finished filming the latter last month.
Also in August, the singer and actor participated in KCON LA 2026 as a member of Wanna One. From mid-October, he plans to hold fan meetups in four cities: Seoul, Tokyo, Macao and Taipei.
