Korea Investment & Securities, a subsidiary of Korea Investment Holdings, has entered into a series of strategic partnerships with leading global asset managers, including Fidelity, Pimco and Carlyle, expanding its portfolio across research, equity, fixed income and alternative investments, the firm announced Thursday.

The company said the partnerships are significant in that its long-standing global business strategy has taken concrete shape through closer collaboration with some of the world's leading asset managers.

On Monday, KIS signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Fidelity. Under the agreement, KIS will provide Korean investors exclusive access to Fidelity's broad research capabilities spanning global macro, equities, fixed income and multi-asset strategies, while also exploring joint product development and co-investment opportunities.

The partnership’s first joint product, a technology fund focused on Korea, China and the US, is currently under development.

KIS then signed separate strategic collaboration agreements with Carlyle and Pimco in New York on Wednesday.

With Pimco, KIS has signed a memorandum of understanding to expand partnership in discretionary asset management.

For retail customers, the two will work to enhance exclusive research content in KIS's mobile trading system, drawing on Pimco's global market outlook and event-driven analysis.

KIS also plans to regularly introduce a wider range of Pimco fund products to the Korean market and strengthen sales collaboration, improving domestic investors' access to global fixed income opportunities.

Separately, KIS is deepening its alternative investment collaboration with Carlyle, with which it has maintained a close partnership since 2023. The two firms have signed an agreement for discretionary asset management, under which they will pursue investments funded through short-term money market vehicles.

Through these partnerships, KIS intends to translate the expertise of global financial institutions into tangible value at the client level that spans products, research and wealth management.

"KIS' role is about more than bringing in the products and insights of the world's top asset managers, but about carefully curating and delivering them in a way that meets the expectations and needs of Korean investors," said Miller Sung-Hwan Kim, President & CEO of Korea Investment & Securities.

"By connecting the partnerships we have built over the years into products and services our clients can personally experience, we aim to ensure that global-standard financial services are accessible here in Korea as well."
