GM Korea said Thursday it is strengthening its maintenance and customer service capabilities through a nationwide network of more than 380 service centers, including around 130 equipped for advanced electric vehicle repairs.

As of August, the network comprised about 90 comprehensive service centers and 290 specialized locations.

GM Korea supports the facilities through three company-operated service technology centers and one high-tech center. These provide training on new vehicles and repair technologies, service instruction and maintenance equipment.

The company also offers direct technical assistance for vehicles with complex problems. Its goal is to ensure that customers receive services based on GM-certified technology and standardized repair procedures regardless of location.

Comprehensive service centers handle work ranging from routine maintenance to repairs involving engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering and brakes. They also provide accident repairs, including bodywork, welding and painting.

Specialized centers focus on services such as replacing oil, filters, batteries and tires, as well as repairing cooling systems, engine-related components and certain electrical equipment.

Greater Seoul, which includes Incheon and Gyeonggi Province, has the largest concentration of service centers, with 133, followed by the Yeongnam region with 111. Honam and Jeju have a combined 64 locations, while Chungcheong has 50 and Gangwon Province has 17.

About 130 centers can perform advanced maintenance on large vehicles and EVs, including work on high-voltage systems and battery repairs. GM Korea said the capabilities are intended to support its expanding electrified-vehicle lineup through stronger after-sales infrastructure.
