Brazilian First Lady Rosangela da Silva shared a photo of herself wearing a hanbok on her Instagram account Tuesday, expressing anticipation for deeper cultural ties during her husband's planned visit to South Korea.
According to local reports, the post follows her meeting on Monday with members of the Korean community and consulate officials at the consul general’s residence in Sao Paulo. The hanbok, consisting of a white jeogori (upper garment) and a blue-tinted skirt, was a gift from one of the participants, Lee In-sook, a former chair of the Korea Women’s International Network.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is reportedly set to arrive in South Korea on Feb. 22 for a three-day state visit. It will be his first since 2010.
South Korea’s Cheong Wa Dae has not officially confirmed the dates or other details of the visit, including whether the first lady will accompany him.
