Air Incheon announced Wednesday that Boeing, the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer, will launch its Airplane Performance Analysis Course in Seoul — marking the first time for the program to be held in East Asia.
Organized in partnership with Air Incheon, the course was previously offered only at Boeing’s training center in Los Angeles. The three-week training course will take place from Monday to April 25 at the Hanseo University Aviation Academy in Seoul.
The course includes a one-week Airplane Familiarization and Dispatch course followed by a two-week Aircraft Performance and Dispatch course. Participants will receive instruction on aircraft systems, weight and balance, flight planning and performance operations for Boeing models such as the 737 and 767.
Roughly 60 participants from airlines including Air Incheon, T’way Air and Eastar Jet, as well as industry professionals from Mongolia, Japan and Taiwan, are expected to attend.
Air Incheon led the effort to bring the program to Korea, with support from Boeing, T’way Air and Eastar Jet. The company expects the training to enhance safety and operational readiness, particularly as it adds 747-400F and 767-300F aircraft to its current 737-800SF fleet.
“Although Boeing offers many valuable training programs annually, participation has been limited due to the US location. With Boeing’s support, we pushed to bring this training to Korea,” said Air Incheon CEO Kim Kwan-Sik. “We expect it will significantly contribute to aviation safety.”
