With spring chill hitting South Korea, some parts of the country, including the coastal and mountainous areas in Gangwon Province and North Gyeongsang Province, received snow overnight.

As of Monday morning, 30-40 centimeters of snow was reported at several observation points in Gangwon, with Guryongryeong recording 42.5 cm. Several roads and national park trails in Gangwon Province and along the east coast were closed. Up to 15 cm more snow is forecast in the region throughout Monday.

The Greater Seoul and Chungcheong Province will likely get 3-10 cm of snow from Monday night as a new snow storm approaches. By early tomorrow morning it is forecast to spread nationwide.
