Convenience store GS25 has made its debut in Hanoi, Vietnam, according to its operator GS Retail on Sunday. Six new locations were launched simultaneously in the city's key districts, including Ba Dinh and Hoan Kiem, on Friday. GS25 said it plans to open 40 more stores in Hanoi this year, targeting 500 nationwide by 2026 and 700 by 2027. It currently operates 350 locations in Ho Chi Minh City. Lee Seong-hwa, head of new business at GS Retail, stressed that Hanoi is a crucial turning point in the company's expansion in Vietnam, and vowed to grow into the leading convenience store brand in the country.
