After Coachella, all-Japanese K-pop group set to cement its status with Tokyo Dome concert
Japanese K-pop group XG have officially announced an upcoming performance at Tokyo Dome.
During their Feb. 23 and 24 concerts in Tokyo, part of their "The First Howl" world tour, XG revealed that their final stop in the tour will be Tokyo Dome on May 14.
"The First Howl" began May last year and is XG’s first-ever world tour. The group has performed in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, China, the US, the UK, Germany, France, Australia and more. By the time the tour concludes, XG will have performed in 33 cities across 18 countries, and to approximately 200,000 fans.
The Tokyo Dome can accommodate around 50,000 spectators and is considered a benchmark of success in Japan’s music industry. XG’s agency, XGALX, stated, “By concluding its world tour at Tokyo Dome, XG reaffirms its rising status in Japan.”
While the all-Japanese girl group sings mostly in English, XG was trained in Korea under the K-pop trainee system, and is produced by K-pop producers.
Due to overwhelming fan demand, XG have extended their tour with additional shows. The group is currently performing in four additional cities in both Japan and China. In April, they head to Brazil and Mexico for their first-ever performances in Latin America.
XG debuted in March 2022 and is primarily based in South Korea. The group's second mini album, "AWE," released in November last year, secured the 175th spot on the Billboard 200 chart, marking a significant milestone for the group.
Before their world tour finale, XG will also be performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April.
