As South Korea wraps up the Winter Asiad speedskating with 12 medals, “living legend” Lee Seung-hoon has set a new record for the most Winter Asian Games medals by a South Korean athlete.

On Tuesday, Lee, along with Chung Jae-won and Park Sang-eon, claimed the silver in the men’s team pursuit at the 2025 Asian Games in Harbin, China. They finished in 3:47.99, second to China’s time of 3:45.94. Lee now has a total of 7 gold and 2 silver medals.

Choi Min-jung, who participated in this year’s event, ranked fourth with 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Choi made history as the first triple gold medalist of the competition, having won the women’s 1,000-meter title.
