Korean sport utility vehicle manufacturer KG Mobility was awarded by Turkey’s mobility association for its exceptional growth in the country last year, the company said Friday.

Turkey's Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association, or ODMD, honored KG Mobility as the "Fastest Growing Light Commercial Vehicle Brand and Car Brand" as part of its annual recognition of outstanding car brands operating in Turkey.

KG Mobility sold 11,870 units in the country last year, a five-fold jump compared to 2023. The company’s electric SUV Torres EVX drove the sales growth, with 5,094 units sold since its launch in March. The SUV ranked as the third best-selling electric vehicle in Turkey for 2024.

The award is one of the most prestigious in the Turkish mobility market, determined by a panel of experts ranging from university professors to car marketing specialists.

“It is a great honor to be selected as the fastest-growing mobility brand in Turkey, recognized for our product quality and rapidly growing sales,” said a KG Mobility official.

KG Mobility has made efforts to bolster its penetration in the country. In March, KG Mobility Chairman Kwak Jae-sun visited Turkey to attend the Torres EVX launch event in Istanbul.

The chairman revisited the country in August to meet with the company’s local sales branches and discuss expansion strategies.

“A hybrid Torres and an electric pick-up truck, the O100, are projected to be rolled out this year. By making these models a success and enhancing collaboration within our global sales network, we will continue expanding our exports,” the KG Mobility official said.
