[Today’s K-pop] Rose stays strong on Billboard’s Hot 100 with ‘APT.’

Rose of Blackpink is spending a 10th week on Billboard’s Hot 100 with her collaboration with Bruno Mars, “APT.” ranked No. 34, according to the chart published Tuesday in the US.

The tune slid 12 rungs from the previous week, while her first solo studio album “Rosie” extended its stay on Billboard 200 to third straight week, at No. 32.

“APT.” was released ahead of the LP, and debuted on the main songs chart at No. 8. The single is also staying among top 30 for a 10th consecutive week on UK’s Official Singles Top 100, at No. 28. The album ranked No. 96 on its albums chart, after debuting at No. 4 two weeks earlier.

Meanwhile, Blackpink is expected to roll out a new album and launch a world tour as early as in May.

Kep1er’s Shaoting parts ways with Chinese agency

Shaoting of girl group Kep1er told fans Wednesday that contract with her initial agency had expired.

She thanked the Chinese company Top Class Entertainment as well as everyone who had supported her in a posting on her social media.

“Most importantly, I express my gratitude toward fans who have given me the biggest strength when I was struggling the most,” she wrote.

She has missed out the group’s activities in December last year as per the agreement between Top Class and WakeOne Entertainment, focusing on her individual activities in China.

Shaoting debuted as one of the nine members of the group through audition show and it reorganized into a septet when the group extended contracts in May 2024.

Woodz thanks fans for viral success

Woodz showed appreciation to fans for the delayed success of “Drowning,” via the official fandom community’s website Tuesday.

He appeared in a special episode of “Immortal Songs: Singing The Legend” in October, which featured singers who are serving their mandatory military services. He sang the rock tune, a B-side track from his fifth EP “Oo-li” from 2023, and the song debuted on Melon’s daily songs chart, about 1 1/2 years since it was released. “Drowning” rose as high as No. 13 spot.

“I surely wanted it to be loved extensively, but when it actually became a reality, it might have been too much for me to handle,” he confided.

The singer and songwriter also expressed condolences to the victims of Muan plane crash and the families.

Woodz is serving as a member of an Army marching band and will be discharged in July.
