Korean-born Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung will visit the southern coastal city of Yeosu Thursday to promote the World Expo 2012 currently underway, expo organizers said Monday.

Park will appear at a “Big O” concert to be performed at the center of the 250,000-square meter exposition ground, they said, noting Park will attend the concert as a special guest, pray for the successful hosting of the exposition and distribute 10 autographed soccer balls to spectators.

He will also visit some of the expo facilities, according to the organizers.

“We are very glad that he actually come to the exposition venue, although he promised to do that when he was appointed to a goodwill ambassador for the exposition,” said Lee Chgung-son, a spokesman for the organization committee. “You can have the chance to view the exposition facilities and also meet the world star on the 31st (of May).” (Yonhap News)
