[THE INVESTOR] South Korean stocks opened higher on July 25, led by gains in technology issues and automakers.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index rose 8.57 points or 0.43 percent to 2,018.91 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Samsung Electronics was up 0.26 percent, and its chipmaking rival SK hynix also rose 1.09 percent.
Hyundai Motor increased 1.94 percent. The local currency was trading at 1,136.00 won against the US dollar, down 1.60 won from the previous session’s close.
