Hybe to introduce facial recognition entry at concerts

Starting next year, concertgoers attending performances by Hybe artists will be able to enter venues using facial recognition technology.

Hybe announced that the "Face Pass" system will be introduced at "42:Club," a fan meeting event for boy band TWS, which is scheduled for Feb. 14-16, 2025 at the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

Face Pass, provided by ticket platform Interpark Triple, allows attendees to verify their identity and quickly enter the venue using facial recognition, without the need for separate ID or ticket checks. The system integrates Viva Republica’s facial entry service with Interpark Ticket’s platform.

In August, Hybe signed a memorandum of understanding with Toss and Interpark Triple to develop solutions utilizing facial recognition technology.

At the upcoming TWS fan meeting, attendees can choose whether or not to use Face Pass. Those already registered with Toss’s facial entry service can simply purchase tickets via Interpark Ticket without additional facial registration. New users can register their faces through Interpark Ticket's Face Pass service before the event. On the day of the performance, attendees using the service can swiftly enter the venue by walking past cameras installed at the entry gates.

Attendees who prefer not to use facial recognition can follow the traditional verification process at separate identification booths, where ID and ticket checks will be carried out as usual.
