LG Uplus, the nation’s No. 3 telecom carrier, said Thursday that CEO and vice chairman Kwon Young-soo has acquired 20,000 company shares.
The company’s share price closed at 10,700 won ($9.16), up 100 won from the previous day.

“With the acquisition, he is showing his willingness for more responsibility in management and confidence in the company’s future,” the company said in a statement.
“We also hope to elevate the trust of shareholders about the company’s future business.”
At a shareholders meeting on Friday, the company said it aims to see a 3 percent growth in sales to 8.92 trillion won. The company said it would pour resources into new services related to the Internet of Things and mobile payments system.
