Woman found dead on riverbank in Cheongju

The naked and bruised body of a woman was found on a riverbank in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, early Tuesday.

Heungdeok Police Station in Cheongju said the incident is being investigated as a possible homicide, based on signs of violence on the victim’s body.

Police identified the victim as a 22-year-old who is not a Cheongju resident.

Clothes assumed to be the victim’s were scattered around the vicinity. No mobile phone or purse that could help identify her place of residence was found.
