The waters off Yeosu in South Jeolla Province will be lit up with fireworks Saturday evening.
The 2026 Yeosu Night Sea Fireworks Festival will run from 7 p.m. to 9:10 p.m. at the Yeosu World Expo Center in Deokchung-dong, according to Yeosu City.
First held in 2016, the festival has since become one of the coastal city’s signature events.
The centerpiece is a maritime fireworks show in two parts. An invited team from the Philippines will open this year's festival with a display themed on island stories, followed by a show from a Korean team that continues the same theme.
An opening ceremony and performances before and after the fireworks will round out the program. This year's festival is part of the 2026 World Island Fair Yeosu Korea.
Titled "Yeosu Island Stories," the Korean team's show unfolds in four acts that follow the islands through the seasons, from love in spring and passion in summer to romance in autumn and hope in winter. The soundtrack ranges from Jannabi and Lee Seung-yoon to Ellie Goulding, closing with "Arirang Alone" by Sohyang.
Several island fair-linked events will run alongside the fireworks. The 2026 Yeosu Island Food Festa at the Expo's Digital Gallery will offer dishes from Korea’s islands. Over at the Jinmo District, visitors can catch performances, including a Hawaii-themed performance.
The city will add shuttle buses between the expo’s main venue and Yeosu Expo Station on the day of the festival.
Details on traffic and parking are available on the Yeosu Night Sea Fireworks Festival website.
