Illit had amassed 900 million plays on Spotify with its debut song, “Magnetic,” as of Sunday, Belift Lab said Tuesday, citing platform data.
The 2024 megahit accomplished the feat in the fastest time for a debut song from a K-pop group. The dance number landed on Billboard’s Hot 100 and UK Official Singles Top 100 and swept all major music charts at home.
Meanwhile, the quintet is set to bring out its fifth EP, “Break Even,” on Oct. 26. It remains to be seen if the full unit will be able to promote the upcoming set, however, as Iroha sprained her ankle during a recent rehearsal. Moka has also been taking time off since April, and watched the group take the stage at the encore gig for its world tour in Incheon over the weekend.
