Illit exceeded 100 million plays in Japan with “It’s Me,” the lead track on its fourth EP “Mamihlapinatapai,” agency Belift Lab announced Wednesday, citing Oricon data.
It is the group’s third song to reach the milestone, after “Magnetic” and “Almond Chocolate.”
“It’s Me,” the group's first attempt at techno, spent 18 weeks on both Billboard’s Global 200 and Global 200 excl. US, peaking at No. 67 and No. 32, respectively. The accompanying music video logged 100 million views on YouTube.
The group's fifth EP “Break Even” is set for an Oct. 26 release, and its single “Swingin’ Magic” releases next week. The track will be used as the opening theme song for a Japanese TV animation and will also be available in Korean.
