KFC Korea has signed a memorandum of understanding with KFC’s Taiwan and Hong Kong operations to deepen cooperation on menu development, marketing and restaurant operations.
The agreement was signed Aug. 25 by KFC Korea CEO Shin Ho-sang and Karen Chan, CEO of KFC Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Under the partnership, the three markets will share operational expertise and collaborate on localized menus, joint promotions, customer engagement strategies and quality assurance. Successful products and marketing campaigns may also be adapted and introduced across the markets.
The agreement is the latest step in KFC Korea’s push to extend its menu and marketing expertise overseas.
In June 2025, the company exported its campaign for "Kenchibap" — a menu item combining fried chicken and rice — to Taiwan. It also held a local media event featuring chef Choi Hyun-seok, who appeared in the Korean campaign.
KFC Korea expanded the initiative to Mongolia in July, signing a strategic partnership agreement and sharing the Kenchibap recipe and advertising materials.
“This memorandum is a meaningful partnership that will strengthen synergies among Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong by drawing on the menu development and marketing capabilities we have built,” Shin said.
“We will continue expanding collaboration and pursuing projects tailored to local tastes and dining cultures to strengthen our competitiveness.”
