Musinsa is accelerating its expansion into China and Southeast Asia, building on rapid growth in Japan.
Transaction volume through Musinsa’s Global Store in Japan surpassed last year’s full-year total within the first seven months of this year. The platform recorded average annual growth of 136 percent, while new membership registrations more than doubled from a year earlier.
Musinsa established its Japanese subsidiary in 2021 and has since strengthened its presence through customer data analysis, local logistics infrastructure and offline events promoting Korean fashion brands.
Its Musinsa Tokyo Pop-up Store, which opened in April, attracted visitors from all 47 Japanese prefectures, highlighting growing nationwide interest in K-fashion.
Drawing on that experience, Musinsa is now stepping up its push into China and Southeast Asia.
The company established a Chinese subsidiary in 2025. It is also working with local distributors in the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia to develop offline sales channels for its private-label fashion brand Musinsa Standard.
Rather than applying a single expansion model across the region, Musinsa plans to assess consumer demand and distribution conditions in each country before developing market-specific strategies.
“The company plans to open its first permanent store in Tokyo next year and pursue localization strategies tailored to China and Southeast Asian markets,” a Musinsa official said.
