Two second-year middle school students were caught by police for alleged marijuana use at a playground in Seoul, authorities said Tuesday.

Nowon Police Station said it is investigating the two juveniles on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

According to police, the teens were spotted at 9:10 p.m. on April 25 at a playground near an apartment complex in Seoul. While running and shouting phrases like, “Someone is chasing us” and “A friend smoked marijuana,” they were apprehended by patrolling officers.

A subsequent search of the area uncovered liquid marijuana that appeared to have been discarded by the suspects, police said.
