Ingredients:
- 500 grams tofu
- 3 tablespoons curry powder
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 2 cups cooking oil
- A pinch of chopped parsley
Batter Ingredients:
- 50 grams flour
- 1 egg
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
Sauce Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1/2 tablespoon Parmesan cheese powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 tablespoon corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
(serves 4)
Instructions:
Cut the tofu into 4 equal parts, then slice each piece in half to create thick sticks about 2 centimeters thick. Sprinkle with salt and let them rest. Place the tofu on paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Dust each tofu piece with curry powder, then coat with flour, dip in beaten egg, and finally cover with breadcrumbs.
Heat the cooking oil in a pan for about 2 minutes. Fry the tofu on medium heat for about 6 minutes and 30 seconds, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown and crispy.
Place the fried tofu katsu on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
Serve the tofu katsu on a plate, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and enjoy with the sauce on the side.
