South Korea’s Air Force aerobatic team, the Black Eagles, held an air show on Saturday to celebrate the 21st Busan Fireworks Festival.
Held at Gwangalli Beach, Busan, at 4 p.m., the show lasted for 10 minutes, kicking off the festivities ahead of the main event.
The official fireworks program runs from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. across Gwangalli Beach, Igidae and Dongbaek Island.
The main event opens with an international showcase featuring designs from a renowned Chinese fireworks team, followed by the signature Busan multi-fireworks show centered on the theme “Busan’s Dream” and concludes with a curtain-call finale.
Pre-festival activities began at 1 p.m., featuring a book picnic along the beach, chalk art and scratch book interactive zones and live busking by local indie bands. Signal fireworks were set off three times starting at 6 p.m. to signal the countdown to the main event.
