Stray Kids leader Bang Chan donated 200 million won ($144,295) to support rehabilitation care in Korea and recovery efforts following severe flooding in Nepal, said JYP Entertainment, Saturday.
Bang Chan donated 100 million won each to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital and the Korean Committee for UNICEF.
The contribution to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital will be used to help establish specialized rehabilitation centers tailored to patients’ ages and medical conditions, while the donation to UNICEF Korea will go toward recovery efforts for communities affected by the recent major flooding in Nepal.
“I wanted to offer even a small measure of comfort to those going through exhausting and difficult times,” said Bang Chan through a press release issued by JYP Entertainment. “I sincerely hope many people can return to peaceful daily lives as soon as possible.”
Bang Chan has made a series of donations in recent years.
On his birthday last year on Oct. 3, he donated 100 million won to Samsung Medical Center to support treatment costs for pediatric patients and another 100 million won to UNICEF Korea to support children around the world.
In 2024, he donated 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea to support people with developmental disabilities, becoming a member of the organization’s Honor Society for major donors.
He also joined fellow Stray Kids members in disaster-relief efforts. In 2025, the group contributed to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association and World Vision to support recovery from wildfires in North and South Gyeongsang provinces, as well as to World Vision Hong Kong following a fire there.
Other than his donation efforts, Bang Chan has also remained active as a songwriter and producer, being part of Stray Kids’ in-house producer unit, 3Racha, with members Changbin and Han. According to the Korea Music Copyright Association, he is registered as a copyright holder on 244 songs, the highest number among K-pop idols, according to JYP Entertainment.
Stray Kids, meanwhile, is continuing its “Run It” world tour and is scheduled to perform in Mexico City on Sept. 25 and 26 as part of “Straycity,” the group-led festival project being held across three Latin American locations. Since launching in Bogota on Sept. 9, the group successfully staged two shows in Buenos Aires on Monday and Tuesday.
