The Seoul Foreign Resident Center has launched a multilingual consultation service for foreign residents seeking help with insurance claims and compensation after car accidents.
The center, in partnership with the Traffic Accident Compensation Supervisory Service, will offer in-person consultations every other Wednesday in English, Chinese, Mongolian and Russian.
Professional consultants will be available from 10 a.m. to noon on designated days.
Reservations by phone are required. Applicants must provide details of the accident and relevant documents before scheduling an in-person consultation.
The service offers guidance on reporting accidents to police and insurers, the types of compensation that may be available, and how to seek assistance in cases involving uninsured or hit-and-run drivers.
Consultants can also advise on accident and injury response, hospital treatment and medical expenses, and what to do if an insurer refuses to process a claim or if a victim believes their legal rights have been violated.
The service is limited to information and advice. Consultants do not negotiate with insurance companies on behalf of applicants or assess whether a proposed settlement amount is appropriate.
Reservations can be made at 02-2229-4910. General inquiries can be directed to the Seoul Foreign Resident Center at 02-2229-4900.
