Paradise City to host Sound Planet Festival

Seventy-three acts from Korea and Japan will perform at Sound Planet Festival at Paradise City in Incheon this fall.

The festival runs Sept. 5-6 across the resort grounds, Paradise City said Monday.

Rolling Hall, the Hongdae live music venue, staged the first edition at Paradise City last year to mark its 30th anniversary. This year's festival returns to the resort under the slogan "My Sound, My Planet," expanded across a wider range of indoor and outdoor spaces.

The Korean lineup includes Young K of Day6, YB, Xia, Jang Beom-june, Urban Zakapa, Cherry Filter, Crying Nut, Guckkasten, CNBlue and Jukjae. Japanese acts include UVERworld, Zutomayo, ALI, Nemophila, Atarayo and Asterism.

Performances will be spread across five stages. The main Sound Planet Stage sits in Culture Park, joined by the Sound Camp Stage at Studio Paradise, the Chroma Stage at Club Chroma, the Brisse Stage at Chroma Square and the CMYK Stage on the Plaza grounds, each programmed with a different mix of genres.

The CMYK Stage, which hosts busking sets by emerging artists, is open to all resort visitors free of charge and does not require a festival ticket.

The resort is also selling a package that combines festival admission with accommodation. A dedicated room package includes a one-night stay, a one-day festival pass, and access to Cimer, Wonderbox, and the pool. A late-night Cimer product will also run for guests who want to stay on after the concerts end.

Festival ticket holders receive 25 percent off admission to the Cimer spa and the Wonderbox indoor theme park from Sept. 5 to 30. On Sept. 5 and 6, ticket holders also receive 10 percent off at food and beverage outlets and the food court in the Plaza.

Paradise City has previously hosted large music events including the Asian Pop Festival and Ultra Korea.
