Golfzon, a leading Korean maker of golf simulators, said Monday it has signed a sponsorship agreement with LPGA rookie Alison Lee as part of efforts to strengthen its global marketing activities.

Under the agreement, the firm will sponsor Lee for two years. She will wear apparel with the company logo at golf tournaments and attend events hosted by the company.

“I’m excited to cooperate with Golfzon. I will do my best to play well so that the world will know the company better,” Lee said at a ceremony in the United States last week.

Golfzon hopes that the sponsorship will be a breakthrough opportunity to increase awareness of its brand in North America and Europe, the firm said.

On top of the sponsorship, the company donated two golf practice simulators, called GDR, to the University of California, Los Angeles where Lee plays.

The company’s donation aims to help the team improve its performance and prove the excellence of the simulation system across universities and regions in the country, according to the firm.

“The GDR system is used by the Korea national golf team as well as the Chinese. Having the sponsorship and donation as the marking points, we’ll conduct aggressive marketing activities in the global market,” said Tommy Lim, senior vice president of the European Union and American business division at Golfzon.

Starting with UCLA, the company plans to expand its partnership with the top five institutions affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, including Stanford University and University of Southern California.
